Any suggestions for who to put in my fantasy football team (against the lads in work)?
There%26#039;s money invovled, and I might need a new pair of shoes come next May (lol) its with www.premierleague.com.
I need 3 strikers, 5 mid field, 5 back and 2 goals (that includes 4 subs)
Any suggestions for who to put in my fantasy football team (against the lads in work)?
Make sure you spend all your money on Petr Cech, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba and Cristiano Ronaldo, then spend all the rest on anyone who will fit the positions.
Them 6 players will win you the league on their own! If it%26#039;s only two players per Premier league team allowed then drop Rio and Cech and pick from David James (goal), Steve Finnan (back), Kolo Toure (back), Cesc Fabregas (midfield) or Mikael Arteta (midfield). The only other strikers worth considering Carlos Tevez, Dimitar Berbatov or Benni McCarthy.
Good luck!

This is the United States of America...
We play AMERICAN SPORTS...
Baseball.... Basketball... And AMERICAN FOOTBALL....
Reply:If you look at the site, you can see last seasons points. The same players will rack them up again this year, plus I think Dean Ashton and David Healey are cheap strikers who will get a few goals.
Reply:Despite the %26quot;valuable,%26quot; and %26quot;polite%26quot; responses you%26#039;ve gotten, you will indeed find more information in the Football (Soccer) section, or better still, flip into the Yahoo UK Edition of Answers.
The Football section you have posted this to will only get MLS answers and snide remarks at best.

Reply:try to pick 2 players from each of the top clubs e.g man utd, chelsea, liverpool and i%26#039;d pick players from spurs, arsenal and newcastle. you won%26#039;t be able to afford to buy all your players from the top teams so make up the rest with cheaper players from lower teams who scored high last year.
and to the insulated pea brained yanks - the world out there is alot bigger than the size of your smarmy fat @rses. and believe it or not doesn%26#039;t revolve round you so keep out of what you don%26#039;t understand!!!! (thats everything really).

If you were in Kris Boyd, Or Derek Riordan's shoes Would you Stay and fight for your place?
Or would you move to secure first team football?
If you were in Kris Boyd, Or Derek Riordan%26#039;s shoes Would you Stay and fight for your place?
Tell Riordan to give it another season if Strachan goes. While I think Strachan is alright, not the great manager we deserve but not as terrible as he is made out to be, I don%26#039;t understand why Riordan can%26#039;t get a game. He%26#039;s banging them in for the reserves, he%26#039;s a great free-kick taker and I think he would be great with Samaras.
Reply:Kris Boyd - Yes
Derek Riordan - No
Reply:Boyd deffo
Riordan naw
Reply:Boyd. He is getting the occasional run out. His position might change when wattie gets more talented players during the close season, so there is a chink of light for him.
Riordan. If i was him I would be asking my agent about getting away. Strachan doesn%26#039;t seem to rate him.
Reply:The two players mentioned are in a horrible spot.
To leave (especially Riordan) would mean a step %26#039;down%26#039;, maybe Championship, low Premiership if lucky or back to the Hibs(and take a monster pay cut)
Boyd must be well pissed off with his limited chances at a run in the team what with his record, if I was Boyd, I would want a move but you have to take into account his friends, family etc cause there is certainly no team in Scotland that can (or will) sign him so would mean moving to another country but again, what level? Doubtful if he would interest %26#039;top%26#039; level teams down south so big chance he would end up like Kenny Miller fighting relegation and having little/no decent service up front blah blah, will stop now

Help for knee pain tendonitis from playing football on astro turf?
due to flat feet!
Can%26#039;t give up just want some suggestions for preventing the pain.
Some have suggested:
tape around under knees,
change to hockey shoes which have more sole support,
get and use arch supports (onthotics?)
Any experience/advice welcomed?!
Help for knee pain tendonitis from playing football on astro turf?
The very best treatment for any type of tendinitis is to rest the affected limb in order to allow it to heal. By constantly repeating the action that gave you tendinitis in the first place, you%26#039;re only perpetuating the inflammation.
Taping your knee, using orthotic inserts in your shoes, and other measures such as this can help prevent tendinitis...but they don%26#039;t do much to allow the tendons to heal. Once they%26#039;re healed, then taping, shoes and orthotics may prevent or delay your symptoms from coming back.
You gotta get those tendons to calm down. Tendinitis means %26quot;inflammation of the tendons%26quot;. So your goal is to calm the inflammation, then deal with what%26#039;s causing it.
Western medicine advocates the use of ice and anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen or Alleve. Ice helps reduce swelling.
Easter medicine advocates the use of heat, accupuncture, and herbs (which are REAL medications) to open the energy channels thus allowing your body%26#039;s natural healing mechanisms to work more effectively. Both forms of treatment have been found to work. You can try one, and if it doesn%26#039;t work for you...try another. But as with all forms of treatment, you should check with your health care provider first before embarking on any new treatment regimes to make certain they won%26#039;t do more harm than good in your individual case.
You may also have a condition called patellofemoral dysfunction where the knee joint is out of alignment with your femur (thigh). This can be caused by foot problems which cause you to shift your weight distribution unevenly and thus in turn make your knee and upper leg go out of alignment. Remember, everything is connected...you have a problem in one area, and eventually, if not treated, you%26#039;ll have problems that cascade throughout your skeletal system.
Have you been checked for patellofemoral joint dysfunction (PFJD)? If you have this, physical therapy can help you learn to realign everything through proper body positioning and exercise to strengthen the supportive structures of your knee so that the pain goes away.
But IF it%26#039;s all stemming from your feet...you gotta start by %26quot;fixing%26quot; the source and then proceed from there.
Reply:use tiger balm. If you stand hot ointments that stuff is great. Also ask your doctor because they have patches they can give you to put on your knee to help has well.
Reply:i have the same problem and i had this to think about if i didn`t stop my knees would have packed in so in ten years when my son asks me to play ball but i cant cos of bad knees or stop playing know and save my knees
i love football but my knees have to last me a life time

Can you punt in the NFL without shoes on????
I don%26#039;t see why not
Reply:I%26#039;m sure you could, no rules against it, but why would you? Thinks you%26#039;d have many spike marks and probably broken toes from getting stepped on numerous times during the course of a single game.
Reply:yes
Reply:I would guess so unless they changed the rules.
I can%26#039;t remember the name of the punter who used to.
I doubt a team would let a guy do that now and risk injury.
Reply:yeah, but it hasnt been done in years.
Reply:You add more velocity and hit with the special shoes. It would also be much less painful in cooler weather. There have been kickers kick barefoot.
Reply:Im sure you can but it would sting really bad in the cold...I remember there was a kicker that kicked barefoot...hope you dont get your feet stepped on either.
Reply:you can play without legs!
Reply:I cannot remember ever seeing a barefoot punter in the nfl-I guess you could, but your season would be over if one of the 300 pounders stepped on your foot.
